This bridge was originally located in Maastricht over the Liège-Maastricht Canal. It was dismantled in 1955 and moved to Gouden Ploeg, where it was placed over the Alemelo-De Haandrik Canal. This swing bridge replaced the original floating bridge and is an open, horizontal swing bridge of lightweight iron construction, resting on concrete abutments. Until 2004, the bridge's rotating mechanism could be set in motion with a hand-operated wrench. The bridge rotates to the left towards the west side of the canal bank, where it rests on several piers. The bridge is covered with wood and has cast-iron parapets bolted to the bridge deck. On the closed wall of the apron is a plaque with the inscription "Doppler Fresères Maestrich" and the year 1875.
