The bridge was first mentioned in 1367. However, the original steel bridge was not built until 1883, spanning between Posottendorf on the east bank and Leschwitz on the west bank. The Posottendorf manor was located on the east bank, and a cloth factory on the west bank. In 1936, as part of the Germanization of place names, the village of Posottendorf-Leschwitz was renamed Weinhübel. The bridge was blown up by Wehrmacht troops on May 7, 1945, and has never been rebuilt. Today, only the bridgeheads and piers remain as reminders of the former crossing of the Neisse River. The manor also no longer exists. Only the dilapidated building of the former cloth factory still stands. The western section of the bridge was a truss bridge spanning the Neisse between the western bridgehead and the central pier. The adjoining eastern section was a truss bridge supported by two additional piers and the eastern bridgehead. The western section was a truss bridge spanning the Neisse between the western bridgehead and the central pier.
The possibility of rebuilding the bridge for pedestrian and bicycle traffic is being examined more closely.[1]
