Wikipedia: The current drawbridge dates from 1919, but the first bridge on this site was a fixed bridge from 1511. The Kerkbrug (Church Bridge) crosses the Vliet and was formerly called the Voorburgsche Brug (Voorburg Bridge). The bridge connects Kerkstraat with Westvlietweg. In 1892, a new fixed bridge was built, the masonry bridgeheads of which can still be seen. "ANNO 1892" is carved into the eastern bridgehead. In 1919, the middle section of the bridge was replaced by a movable iron drawbridge. The road surface consists of wooden planks. The bridge and the bridge keeper's house, relocated in 1978 and built in the chalet style in 1892, have been listed as national monuments since 2001 and are also part of the protected village view of Voorburg. The bridge and the house are almost identical to the Nieuwe Tolbrug and its associated house.
