Wikipedia:
The Wijkerbrug in the Dutch city of Voorburg is a drawbridge over the Vliet River, dating from 1891. Originally built as a fixed bridge, it was converted to a drawbridge in 1919. The bridge is a national monument.
The bridge is located at the end of Wijkerlaan in Voorburg and is heavily used by bicycle commuters traveling to the Leidschenveen district of The Hague.
A bridge over the Vliet River existed near the old hamlet of Wiic or Wike as early as the 13th century. The oldest mention of the name Wijkerbrug dates back to 1556, when the bridge is mentioned on a map by Coenraet Oelensz as Wijcki brugghe.
