    the Charles Bridge is one of the UNESCO World Heritage site<br><br>Span: 16, 62-23: 38<br>The bridge was only 1402 definitely fertiggestelltet. 16 Pillars, 30 statues and sculptural groups of Saints (1683-1928). Charles Bridge is attached on both sides by two Gothic towers. National cultural monument<br><br>Information by Heidi Zahir:<br>The Charles bridge connects the districts of Malá strana and Staré Město. The construction was carried out under Charles IV., previously was a stone bridge at the site, which was destroyed by flooding (1342) is architect Peter Parler.<br>The mortar was reportedly enriched with eggs. Until 1870 the bridge bears the name of Charles Bridge, before they were called stone or - Prague bridge.<br>It is one of the oldest stone bridges in Europe<br>The Saint 1393, Nepomuk was overthrown from the bridge into the Vltava River.<br>The bridge was built after the model of the bridge of angels in Rome. It was the only bridge in Prague until the 19th century.
