Www.berlin.de information:
The military road bridge crosses the railway tracks of the Berlin-Hamburg train and S-Bahn in the wake of the military road. It was built in 1910, corresponded but at the end of the 20th century no longer comply with the greatly increased traffic and was therefore rebuilt from 1994 to 1996 and enlarged. It has a length of 51 metres and a width of 50 meters. In its design, the new bridge with granite pylons and a wrought-iron ornamental railing is modeled after the old building. Altogether, there are nine lanes and a median strip with bus stop, bike paths and sidewalks on both sides. Because the bridge runs diagonally to the train tracks, the bridge railing on both sides are far to each other.
On the southwestern edge of the bridge the lobby is located in the Berlin Heerstraße.
Construction cost: 30,000,000 DM
