The bridge was built with the elevation of the railway tracks at the beginning of the 20th century. The older half were the two eastern tracks (freight train tracks), which were likely built before 1910. The two western tracks (passenger train tracks) were built in 1918, according to the Deutsche Bahn database. In 1987, the superstructure of the two eastern tracks was demolished and replaced with a modern steel superstructure. This work was carried out by the Trapp company. Temporary bridges were installed behind the old abutments to allow for the construction of new abutments underneath. The width of the new bridge should be sufficient for a later road widening. During a brief closure, the old superstructure was demolished and the new superstructure was lifted into place by crane. In 2022, the steel superstructure of the western tracks was demolished and replaced by two new steel superstructures (each weighing 110 tons). The old superstructure and the two new superstructures were extended and retracted using an SPMT.
