Center (old Cölln/new Cölln on the water), the new Roß road to the South connects the fishing island in the North. Already in the 13th century a bridge existed at this point, called the Köpenicker bridge. in 1835, the name Roß road bridge was officially confirmed by the King. Due to its dilapidated state, the old bridge was rebuilt in 1896 designed by Ludwig Hoffmann. The parapet on the West side was figurative jewelry, the parapet on the East side had in the vertex a 3 m high column with a jumping horse as a symbol for the name of the bridge. 1901 traffic pass, was Pierce in the 2nd World War the bridge arch bombs and destroyed the parapet. in 1958 the bridge was renewed, but without any decorations. A memorial plaque to Hermann von Holtzendorff (1825-1848), who was killed here on the 18.3.1848 as a prisoner by soldiers. The bridge is under monument protection.
