Power bridge 561,15 m long,<br><br>Information by Heidi Zahir:<br><br>The knee bridge connects since 1969 in the elbow of the Rhine with a 320 m wide navigation opening the Frederick City South of the city centre with the left-bank part of the city Oberkassel. The Eastern driveway begins already in the Ständehaus and already crossed the embankment in bridge height. Two 115 m high pillars bear the bridge construction. Immediately next to the bridge, the Rhine Tower of the post office was established.<br><br>Architect: Friedrich Tamms<br>Construction: DEMAG AG<br>14 Ropes<br>Bridge Board: mantel height: 3.35 m<br>Cabinet width: 28.92 m<br>Pylon height: 114,10 m<br>Bridge type: asymmetrical form of the harp<br><br>26.10.2012: Bridge bearing the Rhine knee bridge have been replaced during the current traffic. To do this, the parts of the bridge supports with two hydraulic devices (170 bar) 10 mm have been raised. The survey took about 5 minutes. A bearing plate has the dimensions 750 x 750 mm, weighs 228 kg and can absorb lateral movement of 300 mm and a vertical load of 640 tons. The cost of the overall project was €210,000. The old camps were 43 years in use.
