The bridge lies east of Limburg and spanned the Lahn with the parallel Lahn Valley Railway and the highway L3020 (Eschhöfer way) at a height of up to 57 m above the ground. The highway is in the area of the bridge floor plan straight and has a longitudinal gradient of 1% in the direction of Cologne.

The first Lahn Valley bridge of of highway in Limburg was built from 1937 to 1939 as the stone arch bridge. After the destruction in 1945 she was commissioned again from 1949 to 1962, with makeshift above buildings. In the years 1960 to 1964 a tensioning concrete girder bridge was made finally new. A replacement building is planned.
