The bridge's striking appearance isn't a gimmick by the architect, but an absolute necessity. A cable-stayed bridge designed according to the Düsseldorf bridge family, with a span of 287.5 m, would have required approximately 110 m high pylons, which, however, were not permitted due to the proximity to the airport as an obstacle to air traffic. Therefore, it has two particularly low (34 m) longitudinally positioned V-shaped supports centered between the two lanes. These are connected at the tips by crossbars and resemble triangles standing on their tips. This achieves a cable arrangement that is somewhat close to the usual one.
