To the predecessor Bridge: the "Queen-Karola bridge" built 1892 - 1895 burdock city architect Hermann. Construction costs at the time about 3 million marks.<br>The bridge spanned the River with three steel arches by approximately 60 metres wide on stone pillars and on the old town Bank with two and the new town of shore with four massive Vault fields.<br>Then dimensions: length 326,60 m, Breiet 16 m, Max span 55,30 m.<br>This bridge was destroyed on the night of the bombing on February 13/14. After the war, the present-day reinforced concrete bridge was built.<br><br>Information provided by Hans-Joachim Wolprecht (19.02.2004): built in 1892/95 as Carola bridge (n. sächs. Queen), destroyed in 1945, 1967/71 new building with 3 prestressed Cove straps as Dr.-Rudolf-Friedrichs-Br. (n. 1 Dresdner postwar Mayor, ursprl. SPD), since 1991 Carolabr.
