New construction from 2013 using a steel composite construction
The bridge consists of two separate structures. The western section (southbound) was demolished in 2014 and rebuilt by mid/late 2015. The eastern section (northbound) will be demolished in 2016 and rebuilt by 2017.
Starting in September 2014, the company IMO Leipzig GmbH will assemble the four parallel steel box girders of the western superstructure, with a total weight of 3,100 tons. Installation is scheduled for May 2015.
