    The bridge is the oldest surviving bridge in Saxony.<br>1244 As "pons lapideus" mentioned above, she formed the Weiße Elster until 1973 the main crossing in the city of Plauen. The bridge was once flanked by two gate towers. An old post mile column before the southern Tower formerly stood. In 1986, a replica has been aufgstellt at the former site. After 1973 parallel to the old Elster Valley bridge a new magpie bridge was built, which took over the road and tram from the historic viaduct, the old magpie bridge since 1984 only nor the pedestrian traffic is used. From the 75 m-long bridge, which has 6 sheets or 5 pillars, removed the broadening of 1888 made in this context so that the old magpie bridge has a width of 7 m.
