The get leg bridge was built in connection with Frankfurt's Olympic bid for the year 2004. The town planner Albert Speer had proposed the construction of the bridge already in 1980 in his draft of "Total concept museum embankment". The first pile was made in December 1989. (Frankfurter Neue Presse 02.12.2009)<br>the bridge was opened on the 17.11.1990.
