The only remaining truss bridge of this size with iron piers; however, because the horizontal forces were underestimated during construction, the bridge had to be extensively reinforced, although this did not significantly alter its appearance. The bearings and piers were replaced in 1906, and the superstructure was reinforced in 1900 and 1945 to such an extent that its own weight doubled.
