The "Kurt-Schumacher bridge" is the fifth and most recent Koblenz Moselle bridge, abbreviated popularly "Schumacher bridge", on August 20, 1990 was inaugurated and connects the two districts of Koblenz Moselle and white rough Valley (right side of the Moselle) with the district Metternich (left side of the Moselle) and the University of Koblenz-Landau in this district.

The designations for Koblenz Moselle bridge so far "Old bridge" and "New bridge" are now incorrect and no longer officially in use, however, be used in the vernacular yet always sporadically which sometimes leads to misunderstandings.
