The reconstruction of Ostkreuz station will also affect nearby bridges. This bridge, mentioned here, will either be extended to the south or ultimately completely rebuilt. Whether and what will happen can only be observed gradually. Today, the first pictures of the extension, dated September 30, 2014, are being posted. The extension, a single-span steel truss bridge, is already recognizable and follows the relocation of the buttress wall in the southeast and a sheet pile wall on the southwest side. Helmut Fischer

The first superstructure of the south bridge spanning Karlshorterstraße still exists, as does an older superstructure, designated BAS 9089, which still carries one track. The abutment between the two superstructures was demolished today, June 2, 2015. The demolition process is documented in photos from June 2, 2015. Helmut Fischer The intermediate abutment has been demolished, and work is beginning to rebuild the gap. See the photos from August 8, 2015. Helmut Fischer

With the completion of the North Bridge, another superstructure has also been introduced here at the South Bridge. Only the northern superstructure of this South Bridge is old. All other superstructures are new, and therefore I hereby set the year of construction of the bridge to 2015. Helmut Fischer
