The steel parts of the channel with a floating crane were mounted on October 25, 2008.<br>The Crescent-shaped steel structure of the engineering firm Schlaich Bergermann &amp; partner from Stuttgart crossing the Rhine-Herne Canal in a semicircular curve. Hanging only on a 48 metre high steel pylon on the north side of the channel, the curving bridge has a span width of 150 metres. The Northern, 37 meter-long ramp is formed by a concrete retaining wall, made the southern, 34 m long ramp as earth-fill dam. Großbohrpfähle be installed about 600 cubic metres of concrete and 235 meters for the abutment and 400 tons of steel and 465 meter rope for slope construction.
