An advisory opinion to the historical value by the Rheinische Office for the preservation of 15 January 1996 has the following wording: Description: the bridge structure over the wild is located south of Bundesstraße 8 and the collection of Hoch Elten beyond the railway line of the Wesel-Emmerich railway. According to information of the joint III from 1967 is a British war bridge called "Ingles-Bridge". It is a lattice truss girder bridge of perforated double T beams with applied, triangle-shaped arms an added round steel, triangular-shaped space frame of parallel and connected with bracing plate rods is placed. The single rods run together on two bolted together, hexagonal plates. Bars, booms, and beams are assembled with screw connections. A longitudinal stiffener is formed on both sides of the bridge over the ends of the arms by means of continuous rods. Changes the otherwise original, over 50 bridge form only the concrete roadway Edition as well as the barriers that fortified.<br>Rating: If designation NW the Eltener bridge to a monument in the sense of article 2, paragraph 1. Public interest is on their conservation and use, because it is important for the history of the people, for cities and towns, as well as for the development of the working and production conditions. For conservation and use economic reasons, especially the contemporary history at the end of World War II in the warfare of the Allied important zone of the right lower Rhine. For this action is to associate at the first glance of military engineering bridge in unequivocal way. Even the layman apparent provisional removable character of construction refers to their single confinement in military activities technically supported by pioneers, who have been arrested here so to speak as in a snapshot. Maintaining such not for the duration of certain technical equipment in their technique, choice of materials and appearance on this character cropped design is an extremely rare case and to overestimate in regard to the value of the monument. As regards the scientific and technological history, here contemporary importance, more accurate searches are to function, construction time and significance of the bridge their importance can further harden. Their importance as a document of the final phase of the second world war in this part of the country but is no doubt and explained their historical value.
