The bridge was apparently replaced in 2006 by a new structure ("Messbrückle"). This new bridge can be raised by 6 m during floods using integrated electric motors, eliminating the laborious assembly and disassembly that was always necessary with this bridge. The bridge was even awarded a prize for this.
