There are 3 bridges here.
First was the M2 motorway bridge of 1963, with 2 lanes in each direction, and a cycle path each side.
Then came the two new bridges (opened in 2003), one for the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, the other as additional capacity for the motorway.
Now, the motorway has 4 lanes in each direction, and only one cycle path (on the northernmost side).
