The existing Schwiesenkamp railway overpass is an arch bridge made of hard-fired bricks, originally designed for two tracks. It has a clear span of 4.50 m and a signposted clearance of 3.3 m, with a height of 4.30 m at the crown. The bridge is approximately 17.95 m wide and has a shallow foundation.
In 1957, reinforcements were carried out, during which, according to existing records, a reinforced concrete shell was added inside the arch.
In 2026/2027, the bridge will be replaced with a new structure. During a track closure, a temporary bridge will first be installed, and then the new bridge will be constructed underneath it.
