    <br>Construction of the demolished BAS 2576.<br><br>The Berlin Senate in 1999 wrote a design competition for a new building of the bridge, which should serve as only a long field of bridges. The plans of the architect Walter A. Nahim, which envisages a modern reinforced concrete structure without River piers and side pedestal of monument, preference was given.<br><br>The Forum city image Berlin e.V. Association and other civil associations such as the society of historical Berlin (GHB) criticized the departure from the historical model and the continued presence of the abduction of the great elector before the Schloss Charlottenburg.<br><br>Despite the expressed criticism, construction began in the spring of 2009.
