The new Moselle bridge consists of 3 parts, 2 foreland elements and a large central element. The elements of foothills of the are assembled on the Luxembourg side above the existing bridge over the building by Bernard Massard - and on the German side below the bridge on the building yard of the highway maintenance depot, as well as the large middle section in the port of Mertert. If everything goes according to plan, the 3 parts will be exposed to the 24.08.2013 on the new bridge piers and must be welded then still together.<br>The total construction time of the Moselle bridge will take probably 4 half months. Following schedule is envisaged:<br><br>22.05.2013 to 15.10.2013 full lock of the bridge<br>22.05.2013 to 04.06.2013 lock B 419 under the bridge and traffic over the two bridges ramps towards Nittel<br>10.06.2013 of the demolition of the old bridge with some of the pillars to be completed.<br>05.08.2013 The majority of the bridges should be placed on the new pillar.<br>Shipping should not be impeded by the construction of the bridge essentially.<br><br>On the 08.08.2013 the bridge was on a pontoon from the port of Mertert after Grevenmacher pushed and into its final position.
