The Hervester bridge was released on January 15, 1960 for the traffic.<br>The bridge itself is considerably older. Originally building built in 1924 had its location on the river Moselle.<br>After the end of the second world war the partly destroyed bridge was transported and rebuilt at the current position in 1949 to its present site. It was supplemented by other components, from the blown-up
Haltern road bridge (built in 1911) were.<br>The bridge was built in 1924, has a span of 56,660 m and 9.10 m is wide. It is a steel bridge, where the main carrier as a semi parabolic truss are trained.
Owner of the bridge is the water and shipping administration of the Federal Government.
