Wikipedia: a stone arch bridge located near the village of Rosia in the Italian municipality of Sovicille, province of Siena, region of Tuscany, which spans the Rosia River there is the Ponte della PIA.

The a-arched bridge built probably already at the time of the Romans was extensively renewed at the beginning of the 13.Jahrhunderts. The bridge is located on the route of the ancient via Massetana, that connects the Mersetal to the Maremma.

To facilitate driving on the bridge for tanks, the entire bridge superstructure were removed during the second world war.

Legend has it that the beautiful Countess Pia of Tolomei, the unhappy wife of Nello d' Inghiramo de'Pannochieschi, crossed the bridge on their way into exile, the Castel di Pietra. Also Dante Alighieri in the fifth canto of his work the Divine Comedy tells about the fate of the Countess.
