Information of August Brassel:
In 1858 the railway line was opened in St. Margrethen – Chur and through the railway connection to 1872 at Bregenz St. gained international importance Margrether station. Affiliated well-known industrial enterprises began in the first half of this century to settle, especially in the area of paint manufacturing, wood and textile processing.
The bridge was replaced in 2012/2013 by a new (BAS 66362), intended to improve the flood outflow 2 m higher than the old bridge.
