    The bridge is the first in the world whose roadway substructure is made of feather-light (compared to concrete or steel) glass fiber reinforced polyester. In the background, you can see the sloping, 70-meter-high pylon of a cable-stayed bridge, the Muiderbrug from 1972, which carries the A1 motorway over the canal.
