Since 1775, the Felchbach stream has been spanned by the Johannes Bridge, which the Land Commander Sigismund von Lehrbach had built as part of the turnpike construction project. This was a large-scale road project in the second half of the 18th century, and many federal highways still follow its route today, as demonstrated by the continuous straight connection from Ellingen to Uffenheim (B13).
The bridge now lies in the shadow of the large, new bridge at the grade-separated entrance to the B2/B13 between Ellingen and Weißenburg. Source: Baroque Society. www.barockverein.deA map is loading
