The bridge was formerly used to transport tanks built here at the VOMAG factory. The bridge crosses the White Elster River at an angle of approximately 45 degrees and consists of two spans with a central pier. It is 60.00 m long.

The Plauen site was probably the most important tank manufacturing location in Germany and was therefore subject to particularly heavy airstrikes from Allied aircraft.

Since June 19, 2005, this VOMAG building, along with the victims from the bombing of Plauen, has been listed as a historical monument in remembrance of the bombing. ``` ```
