A new bridge is planned: new span of 117 m as a truss bridge.

Construction of the new bridge will be put out to tender and commenced in 2026. The new bridge is scheduled for completion by 2029.

Renewal of the railway overpass over the Dortmund-Ems Canal in Rheine, line 2992, km 172.13. The railway overpass (EÜ) over the Dortmund-Ems Canal (DEK) on the double-track line 2992 must be renewed due to its poor structural condition. The track gradient in the area of the DEK overpass must be raised by approximately 1.40 m, resulting in an adjustment zone of the existing structures of approximately 1400 m surrounding the DEK overpass. This tender covers construction work for the renewal of the DEK overpass as a steel truss bridge, including abutments.
