The new bridge is being built to replace the Schnettker Bridge (BAS 4693).

    Construction time: 46 months
Total length: northern superstructure 308 m; southern superstructure 328 m
Bridge usable width (between the railings): 41.60 m
Arch rise above the roadway: 15.98 m
    Reinforced concrete volume: 11,300 m³
    Structural steel volume: 4,300 t
The new Schnettker Bridge is designed as a two-span, continuous deck bridge spanning four sections, constructed using composite methods. In the main span, a central girder arch bridge is formed by the arrangement of a steel arch in the bridge axis. The main girders are supported at the arch bases by asymmetrical V-shaped steel columns. The chosen design takes into account the existing constraints (railway, Emscher River, stormwater retention basin).
