Eastern Bridge Section
In the east, the structure begins with a 720.96 m long beam bridge made of prestressed concrete, which has 20 spans. The spans are 26.46 m in the end span, followed by eight spans of 38 m, seven spans of 35 m, three spans of 38 m, and the end span with a length of 31.5 m. The superstructures are seamlessly connected to a multi-span ramp bridge. In the transverse direction, the superstructures in the two-lane section consist of two-webbed slab girders with a constant structural depth of 1.62 m and a web width of 1.05 m. The webs have a center-to-center spacing of 6.0 m and a deck width of 14 m. In the three-lane section, the cross-section widens to 17 m and a three-webbed slab girder with a web spacing of 5.5 m is used. The structure typically has no crossbeams between the webs. In the support axes, a solid round column with a diameter of 1.3 m is normally located under each web of the superstructure. In special cases, due to geometric conflicts with the spanned traffic routes, there is only a central column with an oval cross-section, 2.8 m wide and 1.3 m thick, under a superstructure. The columns are founded on fine and medium sands. In the three-lane section, the foundations of the superstructure are 1.1 m thick, 15.0 m long, and 3.7 m wide. Main Bridge: Bridge section over the Osternburg Canal, the Hunte River, and the Coastal Canal. The second section features the three-span, 237 m long main bridge. The prestressed reinforced concrete structure has spans of 67 m in the two end spans, which rest on 2.5 m wide piers. The main span over the Coastal Canal is 98 m. The superstructures consist of twin-webbed slab girders with varying structural depth. At the center of the bridge, the height is 3.4 m, and above the piers, it is 5.4 m. The webs have a center-to-center spacing of 8.78 m, with a roadway width of 17 m. In the area of the piers, the webs are connected at the bottom by a compression plate with a maximum thickness of 90 cm. The superstructures rest on pier slabs; the river piers are 13.9 m wide and 2.0 m thick. The foundations have dimensions of 18 m in length and 17 m in width, with a maximum foundation depth of 8.5 m below ground level.
Western Bridge Section
The third, western section has a length of 491.50 m. It is divided into 14 spans. The outer spans have spans of 27.0 m and 26.5 m respectively, while the remaining 12 inner spans each span 36.5 m. Here, too, the superstructures are seamlessly connected by a ramp bridge. The superstructure cross-section corresponds to the eastern bridge section.
Construction
The 84 superstructure sections of the bridge complex were erected using relocatable forming scaffolds. The superstructure of the main bridge was poured in one go within 42 hours using 3900 m³ of concrete.
