This section initially only shows pictures of the start of bridge construction. At present, it only concerns the long-distance railway line. The overpasses of this long-distance railway line are no longer in place, but the overpasses of the S-Bahn line are still in operation and initially still concern BAS 39519. At the location of the long-distance railway line, the future pier locations were found already driven, which will apparently form the basis of a new two-span bridge. Helmut Fischer on May 19, 2016
The first 10 pictures from May 26, 2016 show the first superstructure of the two-span bridge as it was being crossed by a construction train. Further work is in full swing. Helmut Fischer on May 30, 2016
Pictures from June 23, 2016 show the current state of the work, which has seen only a few new developments in the last four weeks. The construction status shown here does not reflect reality, as it is partly a construction site but also partly already back in operation. This mixed situation is missing from the specifications, and the construction site designation continues to be displayed. Helmut Fischer on May 23, 2016
Pictures from September 22, 2016 show two support structures that are to be pushed under the two temporary spans that currently make up this new bridge. The two supports will then transform the two-span bridge into a three-span bridge, after which the two outer spans are to be dismantled. This configuration is intended only for the two main-line railway tracks. The other structures are not part of the railway territory. And it is not yet known how this section will be further developed. Only time will tell, with pictures. Helmut Fischer
I added the word "2 span" to the heading of this bridge because the abutments for the new single-span bridge have now been built under the existing bridge, and the framework for a new single-span bridge has been prepared on the south side. The new abutments are still in the setting phase. The construction of these abutments for the new single-span bridge was documented in the images for this bridge, and the framework of this new single-span bridge was successively documented and also shown in images here. The further process will develop as follows: Around November 18th or 19th, 2016, long-distance traffic on this section of track will be discontinued, and the prefabricated superstructure will be moved onto the new abutments, but only in the section of the superstructure used by long-distance traffic. Commissioning will follow shortly thereafter, but only for long-distance traffic operated by Deutsche Bahn. For traffic on the northern edge, the Berlin S-Bahn is affected, which is under the auspices of the Berlin Senate. The new abutments for this section have already been built, but work on the necessary superstructures has not yet begun. Therefore, when the southern side is opened to traffic, I will post the photo series and report under this BAS number and report on the construction of the new bridge, posting the photos under that new bridge, aware that the abutment construction work will have already been completed under this BAS number and will not appear again for the new bridge. Here are the last pictures of this bridge in the dark after the time change, and more pictures will probably follow during the construction of the new S-Bahn bridge.
